Cullman City Primary School was presented with the 2025 "Safe School Award" by Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall in a special ceremony this week.
The school is one of only nine in the entire state of Alabama to receive this prestigious recognition for its outstanding commitment to student and staff safety. During his visit, Attorney General Marshall highlighted several of the school's key safety features, including its centralized incident command center and secure entry gates.
The "Safe School Award" is part of a statewide initiative that evaluates how schools prepare for emergencies, train their staff, and collaborate with local first responders. Principal Elizabeth Shaddix accepted the award, noting that providing a safe and supportive learning environment is the foundation of everything the school does.
